Use color to connect the three pumpkins

Orange, golden yellow and rust create an autumn row without requiring identical pumpkins. A calm background and dark stems help the silhouettes remain distinct. Compare any printed fabrics at the size of a finished patch rather than as a large uncut piece.

Decide whether the runner should read as Halloween decor or as an autumn piece that can stay on the table longer. A change in print theme can shift the mood while retaining the geometric pumpkin layout.

Label measurements by construction stage

The planned assembled top is 14½ by 36½ inches with outer raw edges included. Keep this separate from a finished, quilted measurement. Check a single pumpkin unit before repeating the construction for the other two colors.

Lay out the stems and body pieces for all three pumpkins before joining the row. If a corner or stem looks misplaced, compare the diagram and piece labels first. Keep the offcuts until the full top is assembled in case a small replacement is needed.

These notes help you evaluate colors, scale and preparation. They do not replace a complete cutting list or row-by-row recipe.
